Who we are

The Bath Ledger ("we", "us") is an independent online guide to bathroom remodeling costs, permits and timelines in San Diego, California, operated from San Diego, California. For anything in this policy, write to [email protected].

What we collect

Information you submit. When you request a quote through a form on this site, we collect the information you type: your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, the scope of work you select, and the page and search topic the form was on, together with the date and time of your request and your consent choice.

Technical basics. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes IP addresses and request logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not run advertising trackers, analytics cookies or tracking pixels, and we set no advertising cookies. The site works without an account and without cookies you need to accept.

Why we use it

  • To connect you with licensed remodeling contractors who can quote your project — this is the service the form provides.
  • To operate, secure and improve the site.
  • To keep records required for legal compliance, including consent records.

How we share — and sell — information

This is the part to read. When you submit a quote request with the consent box checked, we provide your contact details and project information to one or more licensed remodeling contractors, and to the appointment service that coordinates them, so they can contact you about your project. We are compensated for these introductions. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), this counts as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information.

  • Categories sold or shared: identifiers (name, phone, email), ZIP code, and the project details you submit.
  • Who receives them: licensed remodeling contractors serving your area, and the appointment-coordination service.
  • What we never sell: we collect no sensitive personal information, and we sell nothing collected passively — the only information we sell or share is what you actively submit through the form.
  • We do not knowingly collect or sell the personal information of consumers under 16.

You can tell us to stop at any time: Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.

We also use service providers that process data on our behalf under contract (hosting by Cloudflare, our form-routing automation, and our database provider). They may not use your information for their own purposes.

Your California privacy rights

If you live in California, you have the right to:

  • Know and access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate information;
  • Delete your information;
  • Opt out of sale or sharing of your information;
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any right, email [email protected] from the email address you used on the form, or include the name and phone number you submitted so we can verify the request. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization. We confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days (extendable once by 45 days with notice, as the law allows).

Browser privacy signals. Because this site sets no tracking cookies, there is no passive, cookie-based sale for a browser signal such as Global Privacy Control to switch off — the only sale or sharing happens when you actively submit the form. For information already submitted, use the opt-out page and we will honor it.

Residents of other states with similar privacy laws may exercise the equivalent rights the same way.

How long we keep information

We keep quote-request records for as long as needed to provide the introduction service and then for up to 24 months for consent and compliance records, after which they are deleted. A verified deletion or opt-out request is honored earlier, as described above.

Children

This site is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new effective date. Material changes to how we sell or share information will be flagged on this page.
